How SpaceBlogging Began
Hi, I’m Amit Upadhyay, an India-based professional blogger, and my hometown is the beautiful City of Taj—Agra. While I’ve experienced significant growth and learning in my blogging career, the journey wasn’t always smooth. In the beginning, there were countless struggles, setbacks, and failures. I spent many sleepless days and nights filled with confusion and frustration, trying to figure out the steps I needed to succeed in blogging.
At that time, I didn’t have the resources or opportunities to invest in courses or mentorships that could have accelerated my learning. It’s not that courses or mentors didn’t exist—I just didn’t know how to find them, and financial constraints made things even harder. So, I taught myself everything. I relied heavily on blog articles and occasionally videos, learning bit by bit through trial and error. It wasn’t an easy road, but over time, I gained the knowledge and insights that became the foundation of my blogging journey.
Now, let me share something personal about myself. I was born in the 1990s, and during my childhood, I was passionate about cricket. One unforgettable memory is watching the India vs. Sri Lanka World Cup match where Sourav Ganguly scored phenomenally 183 runs. Ganguly became my favorite cricketer, and I admired their passionate and fearless approach to the game. Their passion inspired me to adopt the same attitude in my own career—whether it’s blogging or any other pursuit.
Looking back at the 90s, my passion for blogging developed much later. But once I decided to pursue it, I committed fully, no matter the challenges or setbacks. Even during the toughest times, I remained consistent and kept moving forward until I started seeing success.
After completing my intermediate education (12th grade), I pursued higher studies in engineering. My initial goal was to become an engineer, but life had other plans. While I couldn’t achieve that dream, I believe it was God’s way of guiding me toward something I was better suited for—blogging. Over time, I realized that blogging allowed me to combine my skills, interests, and passion for writing to suit my personality.
Blogging also offered freedom—freedom from the constraints of a boss, fixed schedules, and other limitations. I’ve always been drawn to the independence of working online and the ability to create something meaningful. Although the journey was far from easy, I’m grateful for every challenge because it made me the blogger I am today.
In September 2017, I launched my first blog, supportinstant.com, but it failed. I tried again with another blog, which also didn’t succeed. These failures left me confused and heartbroken, wondering why I wasn’t succeeding. Eventually, I realized my mistakes. For example, I used free platforms to host my blogs, which wasn’t the right decision. I also wrote in local languages, which limited my audience. While regional language blogs can work, they weren’t effective for me at that time.
I took a step back, paused, and started learning more about blogging. I discovered that using a self-hosted WordPress platform was a better approach. This insight, thanks to a particular article I read, became a turning point for me.
In November 2019, I decided to take a more professional approach. I chose a new domain name, spaceblogging.com, and hosted my blog with a reliable hosting company. This became my blogging platform and helped me establish myself as a blogger.
Why did I choose the name “SpaceBlogging”? I wanted a name that reflected a specific focus or niche. The internet is vast, like space, and every day, millions of people search for information. By choosing a niche, I could create content that resonated with a specific audience. The name symbolizes my blog’s mission: to carve out a space on the internet to educate and inspire my readers.
Here’s what I want to share about my journey: I’m not a special person. I’m just like you. But my dedication to learning, passion, and refusal to give up have brought me here. If you’re reading this, I want you to know that you, too, can succeed in blogging. You can create a blog that turns your dreams into reality.
